PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an improved polypropylene heterophasic copolymer having higher flowability and impact strength. SOLUTION: The polypropylene heterophasic copolymer having increased impact strength is produced through the use of a controlled rheological technique by adding a peroxide under conditions of increasing its deactivation and half-life. Increased half-life slows down the vis-breaking process to enable better dispersion of rubber particles in the polymer. Thus, a copolymer having a high melt flow can be produced while obtaining a high impact strength and a low rigidity value without requiring an additional elastomeric modifier. |
