PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a humidifier that can reduce the drying of the skin of a person and itchy feeling of the person caused by the drying of its skin by moistening the skin with a constant moistening effect even when the humidity in a room drops due to the opening and closing of a window and, in addition, the humidity in the room does not reach the optimum humidity due to the condition of the room. SOLUTION: This humidifier is provided with a humidity sensor 2 which detects the humidity in the room, a storing section 7 storing the correlative data between humidity values and temperatures at which the skin of the person can be moistened, and a control section 8 which controls the humidifier to maintain the humidity in the room at a value that can moisten the skin based on the detected value of the sensor 2 and the data stored in the storing section 7. When this humidifier is operated, the control section 8 automatically sets the humidifier to a humidity value which is higher than that of the correlative data stored in the storing section 7 by a prescribed value.
