PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make combustion stable in initial operation when only a pilot burner is ignited in a vaporizing combustion device provided with the pilot burner and a main burner. SOLUTION: The vaporizing combustion device 1 is provided with a vaporizer 2 for vaporizing kerosene, an electric motor-driven type fuel pump 4, a burner unit 7 having the pilot burner 5 and the main burner 6, a combustion fan 8, and a combustion chamber 9 where combustion of the burner unit 7 is performed. A supply amount of fuel required for the combustion in a state that the pilot burner 5 is warmed up is an initial supply amount. In the initial operation when the only pilot burner 5 is ignited, the fuel of a corrected supply amount that a predetermined correction amount is added to the initial supply amount based on temperature of the vaporizer 2 in initiating operation is supplied to the vaporizer 2. After the pilot burner 5 is ignited, the corrected supply amount is decreased discretely at each prescribed time to the initial supply amount. Also, the above-mentioned control is performed by increasing and decreasing a current-carrying time per unit time of a pump power source current-carried to the fuel pump 4.
