Hollow plastic bodies open on one side are produced by softening one end of a tubular plastic stub open on both sides by heating until it becomes deformable, and pressing and forming this end of the stub into the bottom of the hollow container over a length corresponding at least to the radius of the stub. Hollow plastic bodies with a variety of non-circular cross sections, can be easily produced, esp. hollow bodies for contg. a heat-producing light source, such as a candle. The need for bonding or welding a prefabricated bottom to the stub is avoided.
|
