PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facing material for easily facing a faced piece such as a decorative panel without using any tensioning apparatus. SOLUTION: This facing material 20 is constructed of a decorative sheet 1 and two heat-shrinkable films 5 and 6 made of a heat-shrinkable material. The heat-shrinkable films 5 and 6 are superposed onto the decorative sheet 1 while their shrinking directions are set in the different directions from each other, and the circumference edge of the decorative sheet 1 and the circumference edges of the heat-shrinkable films 5 and 6 are connected together while an opening part 7 is formed in a part of the circumferences. The faced piece is inserted into the inside of the facing material 20 via the opening part 7, the heat-shrinkable films 5 and 6 are heated, and using their heat-shrinking action, the decorative sheet 1 is pulled from the four sides for finishing the facing.
