摘要 <p>The coupling has an inner compression sleeve (4,9) which is placed axially over the end (3) of a pipe, and a supporting sleeve (1,2) with a profiled external perimeter, which is inserted into the end of the pipe. An outer compression sleeve (11) is placed axially over the inner one. At least one of the sleeves is made at least partly from a synthetic material, so that the radial tensioning forces on the pipe from the inner compression and supporting sleeves, and also the forces arising in use from mechanical and thermal loadings and the physical properties of the pipe, remain the same as a result of the elastic properties of the synthetic material. The inner compression sleeve may be made completely from the latter.</p>
