PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical filter selectively cutting off light of a specified wavelength generated in various kinds of displays, doing no harm to display color purity and having high visible ray transmittance. SOLUTION: The optical filter contains, in a substrate, at least one azaporphyrin compound with a maximum absorption wavelength in 570 to 605 nm region. The optical filter demonstrates excellent performance of accurately reproducing a red part of visible rays because the filter efficiently cuts off unnecessary light in 570 to 605 nm wavelength region generated in various kinds of displays since the filter contains the azaporphyrin compound with the maximum absorption wavelength in 570 to 605 nm region in the substrate. Also the optical filter for the display with excellent durability and easy to mold can be fabricated by various methods by using the azaporphyrin compound. |
