PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a compact torque sensor installed in the point midway in a steering shaft in the direction of the shaft length including a cable unit as a relay means. SOLUTION: The cable unit 3 for the relay to an electrical component such as an air bag device 7 provided in a steering wheel S is installed on the end part of a housing 2 supporting the steering shaft 1. The torque sensor 4 provided in the housing 2 is mounted near the mounting end of the cable unit 3 to detect a steering torque applied to the steering shaft 1. The cable unit 3 is also used as the relay means of the torque sensor 4. |
