PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To observe visually the change with time of rain, and to observe the rainfall intensity and the actual rain in whole without getting wet with the rain even in the case of a continuous heavy rain. SOLUTION: In this visual type rainfall intensity meter 1, a water-receiving funnel 3 is arranged outdoors, and a rainfall measuring body 7 is provided connectively from the water-receiving funnel 3 through a connection member 5. The rainfall measuring body 7 is characterized by being constituted from a time rainfall reservoir 9 comprising a transparent member equipped with a drain valve 13 on a lower part and having a gradation 11 on the circumferential side, and a valve control part 15 provided below the time rainfall reservoir 9, for controlling opening and closing of the drain valve 13, and by being provided detachably below the valve control part 15, with a cumulative rainfall reservoir 17 comprising a transparent member into which a lower part of the drain valve 13 is inserted from above, having a gradation 19 on the circumferential side.
