PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod-holding cushioning member that enables containerization even of a longitudinally short rod, and a rod transportation container that can store the rod safely by means of such rod-holding cushioning members. SOLUTION: The rod transportation container has a pallet 8 with lifting holes 10, a plurality of side plates 14 and 16 raised on a top surface of the pallet 8, at least one set of rod-holding cushioning members 50, 52 and 54 stored in an internal space enclosed by the pallet 8 and the plurality of side plates 14 and 16, and belts 70 for fixing the rod-holding cushioning members 50, 52 and 54 on the pallet 8.
