PURPOSE: A deflection device for a cathode ray tube is provided to correct mis-convergence patterns including a HCR(horizontal center raster) and a VCR(vertical center raster), by permitting R, G and B electron beam scanning contours to correspond with each other. CONSTITUTION: A deflection device(2) for a cathode ray tube comprises a separator(4) serving as an insulator; a pair of horizontal deflection coils(6a) mounted inside of the separator; a core(8) mounted outside of the separator; and a pair of vertical deflection coils(6b) connected to the core and mounted outside of the separator. At least one of the horizontal deflection coil and the vertical deflection coil, includes a small diameter flange arranged at an end of the coil; a large diameter flange arranged at the other end of the coil in such a manner that the large diameter flange is opposed to the small diameter flange; a pair of connectors for interconnecting the small diameter flange and the large diameter flange; and an auxiliary magnetic field formation unit protruded from the small diameter flange toward the large diameter flange, or in the direction opposed to the large diameter flange, so as to form an auxiliary magnetic field for G-electron beam.
