PURPOSE: A light diffusion film for a backlight unit of a liquid crystal display is provided to improve the brightness of the light diffusion film by realizing a light diffusion layer with improved brightness. CONSTITUTION: A light diffusion film(3) for a backlight unit of a liquid crystal display formed by applying a light diffusion layer(33) including a binder resin and particles to one side of a plastic film support substance(32) and applying a rear surface layer(31), the difference between a value obtained by measuring total transmissivity from the light diffusion layer to the rear surface layer with a haze meter and a value obtained by measuring total transmissivity from the rear surface layer to the light diffusion layer satisfies 1-40%.
