PURPOSE: An upper plate structure of a plasma display panel is provided to improve contrast ratio by lowering the minimum brightness of the plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION: An upper plate structure of a plasma display panel, comprises an upper substrate(20); a plurality of sustaining electrodes(21) contacting the outer bottom of the upper substrate, and which have shapes elongated in one direction; a bus electrode(22) arranged beneath the sustaining electrode; a dielectric film(23) formed at the lower front surface of the bus electrode, sustaining electrode and the upper substrate; a protection film(24) for protecting the dielectric film, and which is formed beneath the dielectric film in such a manner that the protection film contacts barrier ribs of a lower plate; and an electro-chromic filter(25) disposed on the upper substrate, and which controls light transmittance when a voltage is applied. |
