A diverter mechanism for pallets and the like equipped with a depending pin has a pin engaging diverter plate mounted for vertical movement between a retracted inoperative position and a raised pin engaging position in which position it causes the pin and, thus, the pallet to be diverted from the path along which it has been moving.
