PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method applicable to off-line coating to a running film or in-line coating in film production process and capable of forming coating film (coating layer) having even and excellent appearance. SOLUTION: With respect to a method for applying a coating agent to a continuously running plastic film by rolls rotated reversely to the running film, the surface speed of the rolls is kept faster than the running speed of the plastic film and the meniscus in the upstream side and the downstream side in the film moving direction is made continuous at the coating edge part.
