PURPOSE: An optical switching device is provided to improve the characteristics of crosstalk, loss and operation voltage effectively. CONSTITUTION: Light input/output parts(in1,in2,out1,out2) and light coupling part, which is a connection part with an optical fiber, comprise a rib waveguide(4), and a bend part for a size reduction of a device comprises a channel waveguide(5), and the above rib waveguide and the channel waveguide are connected by a tapered waveguide(6). An effective refractive index difference between the rib waveguide and the channel waveguide is determined according to a bend.
