PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patient monitor capable of performing efficient caring work. SOLUTION: A carer is allowed to carry a portable transmitter (radio wave transmitter) 16 having a transmission range of several meters and successively outputting an alarm release signal. An alarm stopping means 18, which stops an alarm when an alarm stopping button 12c is operated and the alarm release signal from the portable transmitter 16 is received, is provided to a bedside monitor. If the carer operates the alarm stopping button 12c of the bedside monitor, the alarm is stopped by the alarm stopping means 18 and, therefore, the alarm can be stopped on the side of the bedside monitor and the efficiency of caring work is enhanced. Since it is necessary to allow a transmitter-receiver 12d to receive the alarm release signal from the portable transmitter 16 in order to stop the alarm, it can be prevented that the alarm is stopped without the carer knowing it.
