PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary chair rotation suppressing device which prevents the rotation of a seat as necessary, does not spoil outer appearance and also does not become an obstacle. SOLUTION: A support body 5 arranged on the lower surface of the seat is disposed so as to be rotatable in the upper end part of a gas cylinder 4 which is extendable/contractable but not rotatable and a rotation suppressing means 6 prevents the rotation of the seat in the rotary chair rotation suppressing device. An axial cylinder 7 attached to the upper end part of the gas cylinder is received so as to be rotatable by a bearing member 8 which is fixed to the support body. A suppressing board 9 having at least one suppressing edge 10 perpendicularly crossed with a rotary axial center is fixed as the rotation suppressing means to the upper end part of the axial cylinder which is projected above the bearing member. Then a lock member 11 which is abutted on the suppressing edge of the suppressing board so as to be engageable/detachable and prevents the rotation of the seat is arranged in the support body.
