MULCH SHEET AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a mulch sheet which can been produced at a low cost by using wastes, that is, vegetable residues such as bean-curd refuse or wheat bran formed in food manufacturing processes, and which has a lower environmental load because it can be biologically decomposed and acts as fertilizer after use. SOLUTION: The mulch sheet obtained by coating waste paper sheets with a complex of a dehydrated product or dried product of food-manufacturing vegetable residues with a biodegradable adhesive binder. The mulch sheet is manufactured as follows: by subjecting a dehydrated product or a dried product of food-manufacturing vegetable residues and a biodegradable adhesive binder to a mechanical crushing treatment under a dry condition; dispersing the obtained granular or powdered complex in water, an organic solvent or a mixed solvent of the both; and applying or spraying the dispersion on waste paper sheets followed by drying.
