PURPOSE: A system and a method for providing a DDD(Direct Distance Dialing) number function in a mobile phone are provided to offer the latest DDD numbers to a user, and easily set the DDD numbers by selecting only a desired region name on an editing widow. CONSTITUTION: A DDD database server(18) has a DDD database for storing DDD data composed as DDD numbers corresponding to a plurality of region names, and provides the DDD data through the Internet(18). A mobile phone(10) connects to the DDD database server(18) through the Internet(18) for receiving the DDD data and updating the DDD database, and provides a menu for selecting and editing the DDD number from the DDD data.
