PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water absorbing agent composition and an absorptive article having an excellent deodorizing performance and a stable absorption property for a long time. SOLUTION: This water absorbing agent composition contains cyclodextrin carrying iodine and/or iodide ion and the water absorptive resin. Further, this absorptive article is provided with an absorbing body comprising the cyclodextrin carrying iodine and/or iodide ion and the water absorptive resin, a surface sheet having liquid permeability and a back surface sheet having liquid impermeability.
