PURPOSE: A braking apparatus for a wheel is provided to improve braking force of the wheel by locking completely against the large amount of force with fitting an end of a protruded part of an operating lever into an insertion groove formed in the wheel. CONSTITUTION: A braking system is composed of a wheel(10) having an insertion groove(10') formed at the side; a supporting bar(20) supporting both sides of the wheel; and a shaft(30) inserted through the center of rotation of the wheel and fixed at both sides of the supporting bar. A bearing(51) keeps position of locking or unlocking accurately by a fixing groove(30') formed in the shaft. An inverse trapezoid protrusion is formed in a protruded part(42) of an operating lever(40). Braking force is improved by locking completely with inserting the end of the protruded part of the operating lever to the insertion groove of the wheel.
