WATER TREATMENT POWDER CONTAINING SURFACE MODIFICATION PROCESSED MAGNETITE POWDER AND ADSORBENT, AND METHOD FOR FABRICATING THE SAME

PURPOSE: Provided are water treatment powder containing surface modified magnetite powder and adsorbent and a method for fabricating the same, wherein the water treatment powder purifies water with high purification efficiency by improved adsorption and magnetism. CONSTITUTION: The water treatment powder fabrication method comprises the steps of (a) impregnating 0.1 to 5 wt.% of magnetite (Fe3O4) having a size in a range of 0.1 to 5.5 micrometers into activated carbon having a surface area in a range of 800 to 1200 m¬2/g or activated carbon fiber having a surface area in a range of 1300 to 1600 m¬2/g, and performing a surface modification of the activated carbon or activated carbon fiber impregnated with magnetite using an organic adsorbent such as 0.01 to 0.5 wt.% of carbowax, polydimethyl siloxane and hydroxide.
