METHOD FOR TREATING GAS CONTAINING VOLATILE ORGANIC HALOGEN COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method which effectively and reliably makes a volatile organic halogen compound included in gas to be treated harmless for a long period. SOLUTION: This method for treating gas containing volatile organic halogen compound comprises a dehumidification process of allowing the gas to be treated to contact with an adsorbent and reducing relative humidity in the gas to be treated, a decomposition process of allowing the gas to be treated to contact with a metallic catalyst in presence of hydrogen donator gas and decomposing the volatile organic halogen compound and a regeneration process of allowing the adsorbent used in the dehumidification process to contact with a treating gas which is obtained in the decomposition process and regenerating the adsorbent.
