PHOTOCATALYTIC MEMBER, BASE MATERIAL TO BE USED IN THE MEMBER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive photocatalytic member having a large contact area, a base material to be used in the photocatalytic member and a method for manufacturing the photocatalytic member. SOLUTION: This photocatalytic member is provided with a base material 12 and titanium oxide 14. The material 12 is formed to have a spiral shape, which is then piled up. A plurality of minute recessed parts 16 are formed on the surface of the material 12 by electrolysis. Titanium oxide 14 is stuck on the surface of the material 12, fired and fixed in a thin film state. A light- resistant member, a light reflecting member or a light transmitting member is used as the material 12. A fixing agent can be interposed between the material 12 and titanium oxide 14 for fixing the titanium oxide 14 on the surface of the material 12.
