PURPOSE: A wind direction control device for a room air conditioner is provided to simply attach or detach a blowing guide plate for removing impurities from the air conditioner and remove the fixing plate assembled into the blowing guide plate. CONSTITUTION: A wind direction control device for a room air conditioner includes an attachment/detachment element for simple assembling/disassembling of the device. The attachment/detachment element includes a pad mounting part(70) formed with a predetermined stepped difference at a lower part of a drain plate, guiding and supporting parts(72) formed by folding both sides of the pad mounting part, coupling grooves(74) punched in the pad mounting part between the guiding and supporting parts, an attachment/detachment pad(60) to be secured on the pad mounting part detachably, insertion guide ribs(62) formed at both sides of the attachment/detachment pads to be fitted into the guiding and supporting parts, a support locking part(66) formed between slits of the attachment/detachment pad and formed with fitting protrusions at an end to be fitted into the coupling grooves, and coupling shafts(68) protruded from the attachment/detachment pad to be fitted with a blowing plate coupling part(80) of a blowing guide plate(31).
