PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect the presence/absence of an object with high reliability without the need of reference images or the like. SOLUTION: An image of a parking lot 1 is obtained by a television camera 2. An image processor sets an image section area M corresponding to the respective parking sections 11 of the parking lot 1, integrates the image areas of close densities and divides the image section area M into small areas. It is judged that no vehicle is present in the corresponding parking section 11 in the case that the small number of the small areas of a large area ratio occupy the image section area M. On the other hand, it is judged that the vehicle is present in the case that many small areas of a small area ratio occupy the image section area M. |
