The invention relates to a method for producing a mixed oxide nuclear fuel powder and a sintered compact, wherein a UO>2<-containing power is obtained from a dry conversion process, providing a flowable UO>2<-containing power in a non-ground state, thereby avoiding complex homogenizing measures, especially grinding, in order to obtain sufficient flowability for a large part of the powder mass and to obtain an inner powder mixture of PuO>2<-containing, U>3<O>8<-containing and UO>2<-containing powder in a simple manner. More particularly, a gas phase and fluidized bed reaction is carried out during said dry conversion, whereupon a particle-size adjustment of an average of approximately 80 µm is obtained for the UO>2<-containing powder. The bulk density of the inner powder mixture can be increased by means of measures which promote slow particle structuring during the dry conversion process of the UO>2<-containing powder or by means of other measures prior to compacting the inner powder mixture. Other measures are advantageously provided during compaction in order to increase the compacted density. |
