PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple user interface for communications equipment by which a user can acquire operations of the communications equipment through actual operations and easily familiarize the operations. SOLUTION: The communications equipment is provided with a help switch 104, which can select normal operation mode, where a communication relating operation (transmission/reception/copy) is actually executed, in response to an operation entry in each operation stage of the communication relating operation, or a help mode where only displays are updated in the entirely same way as those of the normal operation mode but the communication relating operation is not actually executed, in response to the operation entry in each operation stage.
