摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical wiring substrate which easily cross-connects a lot of optical signals and has a low transmission loss and to provide an optical cross connect device in which the housing space of optical fibers is not enormously large, the position of the substrate is not limited and the multichannel optical signals are arbitrarily switched. SOLUTION: The optical cross connect device is provided with a slab waveguide 24 formed on the substrate 10 and a plurality of optical waveguides 20 which are formed on the substrate 10 adjacently to a slab waveguide 24 and optically connected to the slab waveguide 24, and the optical paths of a plurality of optical signals which are made incident to the slab waveguide 24 via the optical waveguides 20 are crossing in the slab waveguide 24.
