PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for classifying pixel. SOLUTION: In the method, the system and a mechanically readable medium for classifying pixels as one of a plurality of categories by providing a step for assigning a pixel on the basis of the ratio of the non-closed surrounding length of the pixel and the closed surrounding length of the pixel and a step for encoding that pixel according to an encoding scheme related with the category, where that pixel is classified, for an application example as a performance example, this method is provided with an image compression with which the category contains an image foreground layer and an image background layer. |
