PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin having excellent flexibility and high transparency and heat-resistance and provide a molded article made of the polyester. SOLUTION: The polyester resin produced by using terephthalic acid as a main dicarboxylic acid component and ethylene glycol as a main diol component contains a polyol compound having an average molecular weight of 1,000-1,800 and expressed by HO-(C3 H6 O)n -(C4 H8 O)m -H ((n) and (m) are each an integer of 5-20) in the diol component in an amount of 40-55 wt.%.
