PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method for crevice corrosion initiation time for preventing or avoiding crevice corrosion damage generated to a metallic material used for storage or manufacturing tanks, a transport pipe, piping or valve serving as equipment used for liquid environment containing halide ions, or selecting an appropriate material. SOLUTION: This evaluation method for crevice corrosion initiation time is characterized by submerging the metallic material artificially provided with an crevice, in liquid environment containing halide ions and measuring the time change of the density of a current flowing to the metallic material when applying constant voltage to the metallic material by an external constant potential power source. |
