PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a method and apparatus for manufacturing a ceramic compact by sintering a selected part of a ceramic material with a laser beam to form a compact so that accuracy of shaping and mechanical stability are improved, and cracking of a compact is suppressed. SOLUTION: At least one layer of a liquid suspension or a plastic substance is coated, the coated layer is dried and the dried layer is sintered with a laser beam so as to form a compact.
