PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetically levitated type XY planer linear synchronous motor, capable of moving a planar secondary-side mover on XY surface in a no-contact condition, by conducting positive magnetic levitation without need for an additional apparatus. SOLUTION: This magnetic levitation type XY planar linear synchronous motor 1 is a synchronous motor, provided with a mechanism which is capable of moving, while performing magnetic levitation under a suspended condition of the plane secondary-side mover 11 having a prescribed number of magnetic poles 9, 9, and so on at the lower section of a plane stator 7, consisting of pole cores 5 wound with X-axis windings 3X for developing shifting fields in X-axis direction and Y-axis windings 3Y for developing shifting fields in Y-axis direction respectively, as shown in Fig. 1.
