PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna whose substantial gain characteristic can stably be ensured even when the antenna is installed in a limited space of a communication device that can easily be designed without causing adverse effect such as electromagnetic interference. SOLUTION: This antenna comprises a loop antenna element 11 acting like a main radiator and a case 12 placed in the vicinity of an installed part of the antenna element 11, and a magnetic material section 13 made of a magnetic material is provided in a whole area of the installed part of the antenna element 11 on the case 12 except circumferential edges. The antenna element 11 with a resonance frequency of 960 [MHz] closely approaches the case 12, at a very close distance asλ/100 or below, whereλis a wavelength equivalent to the resonance frequency. The magnetic material section 13 is a high frequency current suppressing body made of a granular magnetic material.
