PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single acting cylinder capable of preventing the outside air and the water from being sucked into a rod-side chamber when the negative pressure is applied to the rod-side chamber. SOLUTION: In this single acting cylinder which is composed of a rod-side closing member b for closing one end of a cylinder tube 1, a bottom side closing member a for closing the other end of the cylinder tube 1, a piston p slidably assembled in the cylinder tube 1, the rod-side chamber 11 defined by the piston p and the rod-side closing member b, a bottom-side camber 7 defined by the piston p and the bottom-side closing member a, a rod 3 fixed to the piston p for penetrating the rod-side closing member b therethrough, a packing 20 for sealing the rod 3 and the rod-side closing member b, and a check valve V incorporated in the piston p, and wherein the pressure oil is supplied only to the bottom-side chamber 7, and the pressure oil leaked to the rod-side chamber 11 is discharged by the check valve V, the packing 20 has the X-shaped cross section, and provided with lips on its axial both ends. |
