The system is for steering a vehicle and involves at least one wheel steerable by an actuator. The system incorporates an electronic steering unit and at least one wheel rolling sensor coupled to at least one wheel of the vehicle. The electronic steering unit provides a steering torque greater than zero which is only applied to a wheel steerable by the actuator when a wheel rolling is detected by one of the rolling sensors. The actual steering angle and the desired steering angle in at least one steerable wheel are compared. A steering torque greater than zero is applied to the actuator steering at least one of the steerable wheels. |
