PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional image input/output device needing to re-read an original image in a black/white mode, because the device cannot transmit color image data directly in the case of transmitting a stored color original image to a facsimile machine capable of processing only a black/ white image. SOLUTION: The control method for the image input/output device includes a step S1 of reading and inputting an original image, a step S5 of discriminating whether the original image is a color image or a black/white image on the basis of the inputted image data, a step S7 of storing black/white image data when the original image is discriminated to be the black/white image, and a step S6 of storing the black/white image data and color image data together with the color discrimination result of the original image when the original image is discriminated to be a color image. Thus, when the output destination of the stored image data can receive the color image, the image/input output device transmits the stored black/white image data or color image data, on the basis of the color discrimination result of the original image. |
