METHOD FOR PRODUCING CELLULOSE DERIVATIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cellulose derivative suitable as an affinity chromatographic support and comprising heparin sodium introduced through glutardialdehyde thereinto substantially free from a cyanogen compound. SOLUTION: The cellulose derivative comprising the heparin sodium introduced through the glutardialdehyde thereinto is produced by using an aminated cellulose, the glutardialdehyde, the heparin sodium and sodium borohydride. The aminated cellulose is mixed with the glutardialdehyde and the unreacted glutardialdehyde is then removed. The heparin sodium is mixed and the sodium borohydride is subsequently mixed to thereby produce the cellulose derivative comprising the heparin sodium introduced thereinto.
