PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panel of flat type cathode-ray tubes, which can reduce thermal breakdowns in a furnace and can make it lightweight. SOLUTION: In the panel of the flat face type cathode-ray tube, of which the external surface is substantially flat and the inside has a constant curve, if it is set so that representative value of the cross-sectional curve radius on the diagonal axis of the above panel is Rd, the representative value of the cross-sectional curve radius the long axis is Rh, and representative value of the cross-sectional curvature radius of the short axis is Rv, the panel is formed so that it has an effective screen size of the above panel of 635 mm (25 inches) or more, and the relation (Rh+Rv)/2×Rd for the inside surface of the above panel satisfy in the range of 8.0 to 10.3.
