PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition capable of controlling a rancidity smell of fatty acid and fatty acid salt in a detergent composition containing a fatty acid and/or a fatty acid salt. SOLUTION: This detergent composition containing the fatty acid and/or the fatty acid salt is characterized by comprising one or more kinds of (1) a metal oxide, (2) anα-hydroxy acid, (3) aβ-hydroxy acid and (4) a bleaching ingredient besides vitamin E and/or its derivative.
