PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timepiece dial having high visibility of a character, a mark, a pattern or the like. SOLUTION: A desired shape is displayed by a groove group A wherein grooves engraved adjacently are formed in parallel along one fixed direction, and a groove group B wherein grooves engraved adjacently are formed in parallel along another direction than the groove group A. Grooves 100a, 100b are engraved on a board-like timepiece part 10. The grooves 100a are engraved at equal spaces along one fixed direction in a region displayed by '1'. Outside the region, the grooves 100b are engraved at equal spaces in another direction forming an angle of 90 degrees with the grooves 100a. Each of both grooves 100a, 100b is formed to have the width of 30μm, the depth of 35μm and the pitch p of 60μm.
