PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength Al-plated steel sheet having superior weldability and corrosion resistance after coating for automotive member, and an automotive member using it. SOLUTION: A layer of an intermetallic compound composed essentially of Al and Fe is formed on the surface of a base material having >=250 hardness, and the thickness of the intermetallic compound layer is made to 3-35μm. Preferred thickness is <=18μm. Further, the intermetallic compound can contain Si.
