PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyphenylene ether resin composition produced by effectively utilizing hitherto discarded recovered polystyrene resin. SOLUTION: This polyphenylene ether resin composition contains a polyphenylene ether resin, a flame retardant and a recovered polystyrene resin. The recovered polystyrene is a polystyrene recovered from a market and including a polystyrene used for a definite period in the market as a product or a part of the product and a polystyrene recovered by using limonene or by a thermal shrinkage recovery method.
