PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate return work of a retainer. SOLUTION: In this connector, a retainer insertion hole 25 allowing insertion and detachment of the retainer 30 is bored in the bottom face of a female housing 20, and a lock protrusion part 33 is locked to a jaw part 15 of a female- side terminal fitting 10 for double detachment prevention when the retainer 30 reaches an actual lock position. The lower ends of both front and rear faces of the retainer 30 are formed with engagement holes 38 each allowing insertion of the tip of the rod 40, and the front and rear hole edges of the retainer insertion hole 25 are formed with a pair of aslant-cut rod insertion holes 28. When inserting the rod 40 into the front or rear rod insertion hole 28 to hang the rod 40 to an engagement hole 38 in the front face or the rear face of the retainer 30 and operating the rod 40 like a lever, the retainer 30 is returned to a temporal lock position to release the locking by the retainer 30.
