PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron gun for cathode-ray tubes, which can reduce the change of the spot size by current change and focus voltage change. SOLUTION: Concerning the electron gun for cathode-ray tubes which includes a negative electrode, emitting an electron beam, a 1st electrode, which controls the electronic beam emitted from this negative electrode, a 2nd electrode, which accelerates the electronic beam emitted from this 1st electrode, and a 3rd electrode, a 4th electrode, and a 5th electrode, which are attached in the display face direction one by one and plays the role of a pre-focus lens, it is constituted, so that the electron beam passage hole of the above 3rd electrode, the electron beam passage hole of the 4th electrode, and the electronic beam passage hole of the 5th electrode respectively have different sizes.
