PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor causing no reduction in compression capacity nor stopping even in a high temperature. SOLUTION: A piston 1 is fitted in a cylinder 2 coupled to a linear motor 5 to form a compression chamber 3. The piston 1 has a resin layer 21 of PTFE on an outer circumference of a piston body 23 of stainless steel. The cylinder 2 is made of aluminum. A composite coefficient of linear expansion of the piston body 23 and the resin layer 21 is set substantially the same as a coefficient of linear expansion of the cylinder 2, so that even in a high temperature of the compressor, the substantially same amount of expansion of the piston 1 and the cylinder 2 can keep a clearance between the piston 1 and the cylinder 2 almost intact to prevent a reduction in capacity of the compressor and a stop of the compressor.
