LEATHER-LIKE SHEET HAVING HIGH AIR-PERMEABILITY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a leather-like sheet having high air permeability and moderate softness and fullness and a suede-tone artificial leather and a grained artificial leather produced from the leather-like sheet while reducing the load on the environment. SOLUTION: A leather-like sheet composed of a fiber-entangled nonwoven fabric and a polymer elastomer and having excellent air-permeability and fullness is produced by providing an aqueous resin dispersion having a solid concentration falling within a specific range and a viscosity falling within a specific range and produced by emulsifying and dispersing the components with a nonionic surfactant, impregnating a nonwoven fabric with the resin dispersion and drying the impregnated dispersion to apply the polymer elastomer at a nonwoven fabric to polymer elastomer weight ratio of 30/70 to 55/45. The suede- tone artificial leather is produced by the dyeing and buffing treatment of the leather-like sheet. The grained artificial leather can be produced by directly applying an aqueous resin dispersion containing dispersed pigment or dye to the leather-like sheet or laminating a film of the resin to the sheet or interposing a melt-blown nonwoven fabric between the film and the sheet.
