PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for detecting approach to an object with which the approach to the object can be detected by simple processing. SOLUTION: The system for detecting the approach to the object on the basis of time-series images obtained by imaging a surrounding environment, is provided with an optical flow calculating means for calculating an optical flow from at least two time-series images, a first addition means for calculating an added value for approach detection by adding a value corresponding to the size of the optical flow while using a prescribed filter function in a first selection area on the image, a second addition means for calculating an added value for vibration detection by adding a value corresponding to the size of the optical flow while using a filter function in a second selection area on the image, and a situation judging means for detecting the approach to the object when a difference between the added value for approach detection and the added value for vibration detection exceeds a prescribed threshold. |
